=============

I have attached the information for the Sports Concussion, and CTE Seminar happening on May 11 at the Geelong College and hope you can distribute it amongst the club via your channels. This event is in honour of former Newtown Player Sam McMahon, who died last year from CTE and donated his brain to the Sports Brain Bank. 100% of the ticket sales will go directly to the Sports Brain Bank in his honour.

Tickets cost $38* (Plus Eventbrite booking fee) and are available HERE: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/o/geelong-sports-medicine-centre-42364569553

Or you can also make a donation to the Sports Brain Bank via this link. Hosted by Seven news reporter Nathan Templeton, the symposium will run for 2 hours and includes a line-up of some of Australia’s leading experts, Professor Alan Pearce (Neuro Sports Labs) and Professor Michael Buckland (Australian Sports Brain Bank) who will discuss the latest research from repetitive head injuries, as well as a panel discussion from local experts Dr Sachin Khullar (Apex Sports Physicians) and Megan Hamilton (Concussion Physio), who will discuss management and return-to-sport guidelines. Renee Tuck – Sister of AFL Star Shane Tuck, will also provide a lived experience. This seminar is for players, parents, coaches and trainers from all sports, allied health and medical practitioners and anyone involved in a contact sport.

We hope you can join us if you have any further questions, please email emma@gsmc.net.au
